We are now working with several others in our immediate neighborhood as part of a major community transformation project that follows a SEED model – Sustainable Economics and Ecological Design.
Our neighborhood SEED initiative to date has involved:
- creation of permaculture-inspired gardens on multiple properties
- construction of eco-friendly buildings using cob and strawbale
- sponsoring of hands-on workshops on topics such as food preservation
- planning for a neighborhood producer’s market
- mentoring of young people (see Community Transformations)
- and much more…
